Living in Southern Mexico might give you an opportunity to think a little bit less about politics, if you can bear to do that. Once you are settled in, will you have any gardening or even micro-farming opportunities if that should happen to interest you?
One of my two corn plant patches is beginning to tassel. I suspect it is too late for them to make ears any more, and they might not even have the energy to silk as the growing season runs down to Killfreeze Zero. In that event, they will at least have a chance to grow and live a little before they die.
I dug up another batch of potatoes . . . russet one ranging from tiny to medium and mostly “whiteskin” with very little russeting forming on the skins. I will save the longest lasting ones for replanting next year . . . same as with every batch.
Two nights ago while sitting in my tiny “back yard” next to the brushy woods, I was awakened from a nodding-off by some horrible terrible high-pitched screaming from the woods-edging brush just beyond “my” part of the lawn strip. It was two skunks preparing to fight. They were getting awfully close to me awfully fast, so I gave out the “Cajun alligator call” which I saw by lucky accident once on TV. Someone in the Louisians bayous was telling us out here in TV-land about how if you pulled your lips apart very fast and forcefully in a much louder version of smacking your lips, you could attract alligators . . . if you really wanted to do that. So one time when a skunk was getting way too close to me , I in-a-mild-panic started the Cajun alligator call as the only sound I could think of which the skunk had probably never heard. And it worked. The skunk ran away. Since then I have done this for fun just to see how often it works and it has worked every time but one.
Now if a skunk is truly beautiful, I will let it get as close as it wants without scaring it off and hope it doesn’t suddenly notice me and get upset. A few times I have seen a skunk so totally white on its back that it only had a narrow central black back stripe on a huge field of white. It is 12 minutes of ( I think) AI-assisted ultra computertoon violence. It seems semi-hyperreal in a fantasy-creatures way. The desert-scape doesn’t look exactly like that part of Southeast Colorado I once saw on a several days visit, but it captures the basic appearance of the spirit-feel of that place. ( I think John Ford made some of his Epic Westerns in that area . . . .Southeast Colorado, the WesternMost tip of the Oklahoma panhandle, etc.)
Finally, the one second easter egg. At exactly timepoint 8:48 on the slider-bar, when the screen has gone black in transition from one scene to the next, you can hear a less-than-a-second set of 7 or so strong clear whistles of descending notes. Mere resistance against anti-us aggression from outside us cannot be enough to increase us’s chances of surviving. Co-mutual co-support of us by us for us would make us internally stronger as a community or even just a community-of-shared-goals-and-issues if that is all we are.
Here is an emerging focal point of efforts to increase economic safety and survival of us by us for us. Technically in the narrowest sense it is currently Blue Dot Farms . . . which is an expanding information clearing house and outreach-backreach platform letting counter-MAGA food buyers and food growers/makers find out about eachother and support eachother in beginning to create a circle of social and political survival economics. I could imagine that eventually the concept would spread from farming to other business activities. People who did not vote for Trump will want to find producers/ thingdoers who also did not vote for Trump so that us’s heard-earned money will not be handed over to us’s enemies who voted to destroy us in the last election and will vote to destroy us in the next election. Us need to weaken them to where them are not as much of a threat to us’s survival as them still desperately want to be.
Such a concept could be called Blue Dot Businesses. Until that happens and emerges, there is already this to start out with. Such a clearing house concept would need a powerful intelligence/ counter-intelligence division to be sure that a bussiness claiming to be Blue Dot was not really a stealth false-flag MAGA business. There is a maker of short videos called Tallgirl6234. Her voice and delivery are calm, deep and low. She delivers very unsoothing observations and analyses in a very soothing manner which is also non-sarcastic and non-condescending. That doesn’t make the observations any less unsoothing.
I think she was American to begin with but lives in Canada now.
Here is a video where she presents her theory that in general bulk mass, Americans may not be able to ” get mad enough” to “do something” because the American mass producers of American mass culture which American mass culture consumers mass-consume have mass-marinated the overall American brain in the concept that every story has a happy ending, the good guys always win, help is on the way, the hero always appears in the nick of time, etc. So she theorises that Americans in this real situation actually occurring in reality for real are still holding out for the happy ending, the hero, the winning by the good guys, etc. Depressing if true, and a real problem.
