Wow. That’s awesome. Monsanto? Bayer? Beat it …

Here is a fascinating little news item about Premier Eby of British Columbia giving a little talk about focusing the response to the tariffs. The news-item is titled: ” Canadian Premier David Eby Trump’s tariffs – “We focus on Republican states and their products, because we know who’s doing this to us. We know who’s enabling the president.” ”

I have been thinking along these lines but I hesitated to say anything because in this context it might seem like special pleading from an American reader. But if Premier Eby has been thinking along these lines his own self already, then it is perhaps not special-pleaderish of me to welcome the statement and the concept.

One wonders if Canadians will begin boycotting the Megabillionaire tech bros who are a powerful support-base-pillar for Trump for their own purposes. Are Canadians preparing to think in terms of exterminating Amazon from existence anywhere within the borders of Canada, for instance? Are Canadians thinking of trying to exterminate every trace of MuskX in all its forms from within the borders of Canada?

For that matter, are any Americans prepared to think that big? It would be a real achievement to be able to exterminate MuskX and Amazon from existence and wipe all forms of them from off the face of the earth.

(Americans-against-antiCanadianism would themselves have to ramp up this approach over the next few years at least . . . reducing their support of Republican-supporting parts of the country in order to weaken , degrade and attrit those bases of support for the Republican Party and its Trump. They supported Trump before Musk arrived and they will keep supporting Trump after Musk leaves.)

Annnddd . . . I read another reddit item noting that the Magamerican ” 51st State Conspiracy” is a bigger deeper concern than even the tariff aggression specifically.
So the boycott will probably last for years or decades to come, however regrettable that might seem.

Non-MAGA Bluemericans might continue buying whatever Canadian goods and/or services they were going to have kept buying anyway, in order to show their non-support for the Maganazi ” 51st State Anschluss Conspiracy” against Canada. Bluemericans might also think about how to focus their own internal thing-buying, vacationing, etc. towards fellow Bluemerican states and regions so as to begin weakening the power of Trump’s Maganazi Magamericans to pursue their ongoing aggression against Bluemerica and Bluemericans.

Mexicans identity and security is deeply tied to maize. A native friend has a ranch in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. She is 60 years old and has a half a dozen kids but personally sees to the planting of the maize each year. The Ranchos, Native rural landowners, keep their food animals, goats cows and chickens breeding stock up to par and ready for food sourcing. They keep mules, horse drawn plows and equipment in good working order ready for when the gasoline stops coming and the money system fails. They have hardy sense of self preservation and an absolute distrust of civic institutions minus the church, strangely. They certainly don’t want their maize messed with by the evil geniuses up north.

I am hoping to see precisionized and accurately targeted thinking in the near-to-mid-term future, both from myself and from others.

The American public is divided between Trump-supporters, Trump-opposers, various ” Look at me!” fringe groups and a big majority of don’t-knows and don’t-cares. The apathetic, the demobilized, the checked-out, the day-to-day and hour-to-hour survivors. Members of the big Passive Majority won’t re-engage unless and until they see genuine credible rewards directly resulting from doing so. Those rewards might be ” material benefits” in the deathless words of Lambert Strether, they might be effective revenge that actually revenges ( which is why Saint Luigi of the Adjustication is becoming a folk hero), etc.

For now, it is up to engaged counter-Trump forces to figure out how to apply greater force faster enough to derail and destroy the Axis of Trump before it destroys all functional traces of the ” Administrative State”.

That would go mainly and firstly to counter-Trump forces within the US itself. Any foreigners and foreign countries which wish to try understanding the different forces within America so as to support one and undermine another in order to interfere creatively and productively into American internal affairs might ( if they so please) also
wish to study ” America” for pain points, cracks, pressure points, cleavage planes, etc.
so as to Tilt the Luck Plane in favor of their desired objectives.

I would like to see several million counter-Trump pre-violent civil cold-war warfighters learn what John Robb has to say and think about ways these things could be used against the Axis of Trump.

“Trump supporters, Trump opposers”– if this is the “allowed” spread of political discourse per your “Overton Window”, please count me out!! I am certainly not a “Trump supporter”, though when he does something positive– e.g., killing the Obama-HRC Trans-Pacific Partnership deal, to allow international business interests to void local American laws (health & safety laws, environmental laws, local ordinances) becuase it hurts “Bidness”, I appreciate the action, if not necessarily the Actor. Nor do I let it trouble me that he did it for a mostly dumb, reactionary reason (reflexive dislike of Obama), the outcome is still positive.

I thought Tallifer was the only commenter here living most of his/her/their Life in Flatland, a 2-dimensional space of always bad, binary choices. Corporate Dems or Corporate R’s, that’s your “choice” under “Democracy”!! When I used to teach High School, most students by 11th or 12th grade had far better critical thinking and reasoning skills than that.

Oh, as to Flatland, when I was intensively studying Qaballah and related ideas about higher dimensions, I read that classic work, from way back when, the 1880s, I was delighted at the sophistication in explaining geometry, optics, etc. analogically by extrapolating from the p.o.v. of beings in 2 dimensions, contacting a 3-d world and trying to understand it. (Note how many great philosophers worked in optics– Spinoza, Descartes (somewhat of a mixed bag, etc.)

That in itself is a months-long project, no? Millions of people of varying abilities – some ‘slow readers’ (slow readers aren’t less intelligent – they’re just slower readers) versus those who consume information blazingly fast – and everything in between.

These will then have to be individual acts I suppose, as there is no way to effectively coordinate millions of ‘counter-Trump persons’ to act collectively to any serious degree.

As to ‘counter-Trump persons’ I believe this is much too narrow. It will preclude people who are moving away from Trump but have invested a lot of emotional, financial and other energy into what they believed was a true resistance to ‘the machine’ as they see it.

It is the same machine ‘leftists’ despise, just given a different facade for a different audience.

All of these human beings are allies.

The ‘counter-Trump persons’ narrative also has the potential to invite too many died-in-the-wool blue-no-matter-what type people – boring uncritical liberal centrists, for lack of a better descriptor – and while these folks…I sound like O-bomber…these folks are certainly potential allies it’s hard to imagine anything serious from them.

In fact, I imagine most of these people would be put off by the mere thought of doing anything outside of voting or displaying signs. They will retreat to those ‘irrelevant goal[s] and…bright shiny distraction[s].’

I don’t think they’ll follow John Robb’s site for too long. And these are the folks who voted for Getty Oil-Silicon Valley/Finance-Hollywood Kamala Harris.

are you being ironic or literal? Since my mind is linear and literal, and I have an irony defficiency, I can’t tell when someone is being straight or ironic.

So, in other words, are you asking whether it is a moral imperative to begin practicing
