I Mean, It Is Theoretically Possible That Epstein Committed Suicide

Wired:

Footage tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s death in federal custody appears to have been altered before it was shared with the public—despite being presented as unedited surveillance video—according to a joint investigation by WIRED and multiple independent video forensics experts.

Here’s what the analysis uncovered:

Hidden metadata embedded in the video file revealed that the footage wasn’t a direct export from the prison’s internal surveillance system. Instead, the file had been processed—apparently using Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional-grade video editing program. Evidence suggests it was stitched together from at least two separate clips, saved multiple times, and exported before being posted on the Department of Justice’s website as if it were “raw” footage.

But you’d have to be really stupid to think it’s the most likely possibility.

So, there are no Epstein files, Ghislaine was not involved in pimping underaged girls and it’s all just a big nothing. Good to know.

Wow, this was really amateurishly done. That is, it seems to have been done by an practitioner, but someone who left in the metadata? Everybody knows about metadata now- was this left in deliberately by someone who wanted to sabotage the process?

Break a leg, break a neck, pretend it didn’t happen.
    Let it all hang out.

Jorge: This is the same administration that published a report on the nation’s health that was written by AI and cited sources that didn’t exist. “Amateurish” is just how they roll.

As to the topic of the post: If there were no Epstein clients and no sex trafficking, as they want us to believe, why is Ghislaine Maxwell in prison?

Boltzmann brains are also theoretically possible. Important to keep such rarefied matters in mind, lest it dull, as our shitlords would have it do.

Good point, Jorge. Incompetence is so indistinguishable from malice in the Trump kakistocracy that it’s a tossup. Then again, it can also be read as a technologically updated version of the tape left on the door in the Watergate break-in, a cockup so amateurish it suggests wanting to be caught. Snakes scheming on snakes all the way down, in this pluralistic oligarchy. Same as it ever was.

Reminds me of how everyone thinks “military grade” is a synonym for “best.” It often isn’t. Even among professionals, actual competence and attention to important details is rare. Every field I’m familiar with this is true, I expect it is for assassins, blackmailers and so on.

I remember shortly after the Epstein death-in-custody seeing a photo posted of Epstein’s body with a noose right next to it. The neck had an at-least-somewhat-bloody circle part way round, but the noose was pristinely bloodless.

The closest I could find to that was this article with different photographs of the Epstein body, the cell, a photograph of a noose made from bed sheeting, etc. This photo of the Epstein body shows the same at-least-somewhat bloody circle partway around it and “the” noose of bed sheeting material is pristinely bloodless.

The interpretation I read at the time ( and which I still accept) was that showing a photo of the somewhat-bloody neck and a pristinely bloodless noose in the same photo-reveal operation was sending a very crude message to every viewer of those photos. That message was that the authorities can assassinate even the most high profile detainee inside a jail and mock us viewers with a clearly unbloodied and uninvolved noose to show us that they don’t even bother to conceal that Epstein was assassinated and they are so powerful that they can rub it in our face to mock us with our own powerlessness to do anything about it.

Here is the link to those photographs including the bloody neck and the pristinely bloodless noose.

I also remember how the first time Epstein was “caught” having “tried to hang himself” that Attorney General Barr railed angrily about the “incompetence” and etc. of the Jail Personnel and waddled over to the jail himself to lecture the staff on how this must not happen again. I chose to interpret that as meaning that he was condemning their “incompetence” at failing to successfully suicide Epstein the first time and that the second time they had better make sure that the suiciding succeeded.

So, yes, it is theoretically possible that Epstein really hung himself without assistance, just as it is possible that some Tasmanian Tigers still live on not quite extinct yet in the most remote parts of Tasmania. Possible, but not likely.

So far, a typical “cleaning operation”. It is rare that official malfeasance is punished by a normal trial procedure. After all, judges are usually dependent on having good relations to officers of state.

But nevertheless, it sends a powerful message that if you engage in the kind of shady business Epstein did, you are likely to meet a violent end. Good so far.

And, of course, Virginia Giuffre’s suicide gets overlooked.

The contradiction is Maxwell. If Epstein was murdered, why leave Maxwell alive as potential wild card? She’s an perpetual liability so long as she’s alive and yet she;s alive and well.

Brunel also allegedly hung himself in his jail cell.
