A national draft is coming in the USA — connect the dots:

    1. “Call from White House situation room interrupts interview” (Sky News, Mar 12, 2026)

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was interrupted during a live Sky News interview by an aide summoning him urgently to the White House Situation Room.

He returned to the interview about two hours later, visibly shaken, and then suddenly went off-tangent and started rambling about his own teenager (son), military service, and how he would trust his child’s life in the hand of the Joint Chief and Secretary of War. (Wait… what? Why was he even saying that out of nowhere??!)

More importantly: everyone could see that Bessent was fear-laden as he was rambling.

    2. “Military Draft Rules Change As Iran War Ramps Up” (Kim Iversen, March 13, 2026)

A new policy that was recently and quietly passed by the US Congress: starting in December 2026, all men aged 18-26 in America — including citizens, legal immigrants, and even illegal immigrants — are automatically registered for selective military service.

And no one has been paying attention.

I sense a disturbance in the Force.

We may soon see the “Ukrainization” of America. Ukraine ran out of young men and began press-ganging people off the streets to fight Russia in a war of attrition. The U.S. could end up doing the same to sustain a losing campaign in Iran.

This is where the ICE expansion fulfills its true purpose. It isn’t just about immigration. By doubling the size of ICE and granting agents broader “at-large” arrest powers to snatch people up, Trump has effectively created a domestic paramilitary force that bypasses Posse Comitatus. While the regular Army recruiters can’t legally hunt down young men in the suburbs, these “new recruiters” can. ICE will become the American version of the roaming TCC squads seen in Ukraine — units that skip the paperwork and go straight to “disappearing” young men off the street and send them to fight in Iran.

Recently, U.S. CBP (Customs and Border Protection) has begun using biometric and surveillance infrastructure to flag and stop people from leaving the country — meaning those trying to flee abroad to dodge the draft could be intercepted before they ever board a plane or cross the border.

The high-tech surveillance, the biometrics and facial recognition, the administrative warrants used to enter homes, and the arrest-first tactics developed for migrants — all of it will become the toolkit for enforcing a domestic draft and hunting down draft dodgers.

America wanted to fight Russia until the last Ukrainian — just as Israel will want to fight Iran until the last American. Karma is not without her own sense of irony.

If you are a young man in America between the ages of 18 and 26, leave now before December, when all the doors and windows are closed.

It’s Town Meeting day here in ___________, Massachusetts. The Open Town Meeting in the New England states is one of the only functioning directly democratic systems of government in the world today; every registered voter is, if they show up, a member of the municipal legislature, so it gives the average citizen an extraordinary level of power — the kind that would only be available to an elected city councilor in other systems of local government.

We’re going through our budget now, which is going to be a godawful mess because a) massive inflationary pressures affect local governments badly; and b) our system of taxation is a regressive property tax that we use to fund most Town expenses. So in order to keep the library fully open on Sunday, we would need to potentially saddle pensioners with massive property tax increases that could price them out of their home.

The taxation system taxes private equity dudes’ McMansions and the tiny, barely winterized cottages of former teachers at the same rate, and it’s an increasingly unworkable mess.

We may be able to do some good things for the environment later on after the budget fracas finishes, though. We shall see.

Flogging dead horses is one of my specialties while cooking them isn’t, although the French are into it. They cook rodents as well, rabbit anyone, but I digress from my intention, which is to say once again that the ignorance of privileged white kids regarding wars and history and contemporary conflagrations consuming everything and everyone from villages to cities to every habitation and every living being human and nonhuman alike is staggering. That’s all. Have a good day.

    1) The original purpose of the Cap Weinberger pricey “be all you can be” military was to avoid having to rely on a mass army of draftees—it created too much civilian pushback, including by the children of upper-crust families. The purpose was “no more Vietnams” but by that they still wanted to have their overseas wars for the greater glory of US capitalism, but without the protests at home and the many body bags of middle-class and richer Americans.

Better to substitute pricey hardware, have fewer body bags, and have those bags contain the bodies of the children of the poors. The problem is with the Cap Weinberger military, by design it’s very expensive (worse because by the deliberate hamstringing of the government’s ability to negotiate with the MIC over prices) and isn’t suited for any prolonged conflict.

    2) Again, this shows conservative ideology “pulls” in opposing directions on major matters of policy. Needing to NOT have to scoop up military age domestic young men was the whole purpose behind the “shock and awe” military; instead, rely on the children of the poors who have poor job prospects. Moreover, why use unhealthy native US men when there are so many healthier immigrant young men who might be quite willing to sign up for guaranteed citizenship for themselves and their families?

Not that the Trumpsters should be trusted. The ICE goons are finding out that their signing bonuses weren’t what they seemed to be:

The French can eats frogs as far as I’m concerned.

  12. Will you settle for snails and puppy dog tails instead?

  13. Speaking of ICE, the controversy related to it has all but disappeared from intense public scrutiny, has it not? It’s as though none of it ever happened and by virtue of that, like Occupy Wall Street and all the protests during Covid, the outrage was synthetic. Not that what ICE is doing isn’t a criminal abomination, but what’s made of it, the hay, is entirely disingenuous and entirely for political purposes. Hey Dems, no more. We are not voting in the mid-terms or the presidential election in 2024. The feigned democracy you incessantly proclaim needs to be saved and salvaged is no more if it ever was so we cannot and will not elect ourselves out of this fascist milieu.

Iran is now in possession of the Chinese carrier-destroying missiles and Trump will call what he thinks is an Iranian bluff and he will bomb Tehran’s power grid despite Iran’s promise.

Also, we have decided not to move to SA or Haiti afterall and we a staying put. We feel much safer now here in America after learning Patel’s FBI has thwarted an imminent Iranian drone strike on Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Chicago. We know we are in secure hands and Patel’s FBI has our backs and will keep us safe especially after also learning FBI personnel will be trained by UFC fighters this week so they will be utter badasses.

    @ Stewart M and K T Chong,

If you are planning to flee abroad, always buy a round-trip ticket to lower the immediate suspicious-appearance profile. And look like a tourist or a party-hound.

I read a story once about a GermanJewish family ( I think) who had waited till the last minute to see if things would get better again. When it was clear they would not, they escaped into Switzerland using the following method: The whole family was dressed beautifully as if for attending a formal event. They went one train station at a time, always buying round-trip tickets for the whole family. When they were at the last station before Switzerland, they again bought round trip tickets to the over-the-border station and back. And when they reached Switzerland, they just stayed there.

And remember, Act like a Dummshit and they’ll treat you as an equal. It might still work for you.

If it plays out the way K T Chong ( and somewhat Stewart M suggest), it is already too late for the kumbaya liberal gun-control cucks. The last ten years they could have spent arming up, practicing, forming militias and self-mutual defense forces are gone.
They eagerly and on purpose flunked every Darwin Exam and they are just waiting to receive their official F-grades.

The various Magas are potentially more ready. The question is . . . how do they feel about submitting to the coming Kidnap Drafts for fighting Iran? Are there enough MTG-Tucker Carlson minded young Magas to form militias and train up for running gun battles with the guns and ammo they already have? Are enough of them prepared or preparing enough to exterminate mass-quantities of ICE agents in the streets to where the NaziTrump DC FedRegime will have to use heavier more official forces to enforce the Kidnap-Draft? And if so, will parts of the country rise in revolt to the point where the DC FedRegime has to divert forces from Iran to the Home Front? And if that happens, which side will the Rapture-Armageddon Churches of Christianazianity support? I suspect they would support God-Emperor Trump’s ICE Draft-Catchers. That would become a 3-way Civil War right there. And the God-Emperor’s Christianaziistians within the Air Force would eagerly and with pleasure drop A-bombs and N-bombs on centers of MTG-type Maga anti-ICE resistance. ( They would save the H-bombs for dropping on San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc.)

Meanwhile, I suppose the non-violence cucks would hold their non-violent cuck peaceful cuck protests, and all stay nicely bunched up so the authorities could mass exterminate them all with machine guns. That would be Darwin speaking through the barrels of the guns and delivering their F grades to them all in person.

Of course that could all be Political Science Fiction. Time will tell.

It does make me think that the numbers of pro-War Democratic House Members who voted down the Massie-Khanna War Powers Act Invocation Resolution in the House have made the concept of “vote blue no matter who” somewhat obsolete. Those members should all be defeated and replace with Republicans. Meanwhile, anti-War “democrats” might form ” Real State Democrat” parties in every Maga district to see if enough Maga voters oppose going to Iran to where they would vote for “Real State Democrats”.

It is certainly a rich environment for running various political science experiments.

Ian Welsh has reminded us from time to time to see and respond to/move with the nice things which continue to exist in the world under, between and around all the bad things.

Here is a little nice-things story. Just this last Monday I went to my appointment at the local Secretary of State office for their Dept. of Motor Vehicles functionality . . . getting my photo taken for drivers license renewal. ( I call it my Don’t Ask- Don’t Tell licensed. They don’t ask me if I know how to drive. I don’t tell them if I know how to drive).

So just after I got there they made an announcement: The Sec of State Servers went down and payments by debit/credit card won’t work. Only cash and checks can work.
Shortly after, a nice man came out and said that local offices own rounter was down and NOthing could be done about ANYthing. And the last time the router went down, it had taken three days to fix it. Oh well . . .

So I made arrangements to have my effort at coming in Monday to be respected and was told to come back in at noon on Thursday and hope for the best.

So I went over to the very nearby goor-may food store with some indoor sit-and-eat space and ate something and then drifted in and out of sleep for a while. When I woke up I saw a twenty dollar bill had been placed under my empty soda bottle while I had been dozing. That was awfully nice of someone. Apparently I still have a talent for looking borderline homeless even when I am not trying to at all.

So I thought perhaps the Luck Plane was tilted my way and I walked back to the SoS office. The router had come back up and they could take my photograph and give me a simple little eye test and send me on my way with license to come in the mail in due course. Of course I paid in cash because the Grand Master Servers were still down.

    Header: Unique Corn Seed Source

If anyone remembers comments I offered in the past about corn breeder Dave Christesen and his Painted Mountain and also Montana Morado corn, here is a source for 9 different corn types which Dave Christesen has developed and which he offers. The little on line seed company selling them claims that they get their seed supply directly from Dave Christesen himself.

    “Corn by Dave Christensen
Since 1970, Dave Christensen of Big Timber, Montana (Seed We Need®) has been continuously developing and refining these amazingly diverse corn varieties. He has made it his life’s work. We purchase our seed stock directly from Dave so by purchasing these seeds for your own garden, you are not only helping to support the seed variety preservation work of the Victory Seed Company, you are directly supporting another small, seed preservationist.

He started by rescuing about one-hundred Native American heirloom corn varieties. These corns had survived for centuries, under the most extreme environmental challenges, from cold springs to summer drought. These genetics result in the extreme hardiness of his corn.

The seed we sell is produced by its developer (Dave Christensen).

Dave’s corn can be planted earlier than other corn varieties due to their extreme hardiness. Click here for additional information and special planting instructions for Dave’s corn”

I don’t know if the little embedded clicky-linky will work, but the url to the seed company entry itself will also take you to the embedded clicky-linky its own self.

We engaged in a lot of trial and error for thousands of years till we learned to grow crops on our own. And we built villages before we grew crops. Although we were getting good at harvesting what was available. I highly recommend Ancient Architects for the best, most sound, non-psuedo scientific bullshit, interpretations. Matthew has truly revolutionized how the sites are interpreted. Single handedly. https://www.youtube.com/@AncientArchitects/videos

  32. different clue

i am glad my offering turned out to be interesting and thanks for the youtube link. I will start watching these videos at leisure.

The nicest thing about Gobekli Tepe was the level of interest it gained at the edges of the mainstream. There are other things here and there which are so strange that people offer pseudo-scientific explanations and other people try to convince themselves that they have not even heard about these things at all. Some of the hugest megalithian block-structures in different places, for example. When some people reach for a Race of Giants or Space Aliens to explain certain megalithic structures, some other people react by saying: ” Okay, that’s it! There is no such thing as megalithic structures.” And that reaction is no more helpful than other reactions along the lines of ” the Giant Space Aliens diddit”.
