I have just recently run across this 19th century French author. He provides valuable insight into imperialist Russia. It resonates. Same as it ever was, same as it ever was. Anybody else seen a lot of new Car Wash businesses being built in their town recently? In my town, there are three fancy new car wash joints going up along Hamburger Hill (section of Rt 1 where the fast food places are).

There is AI slop and AI sewage. AI sewage is pure digital pollution emanating from a million billion pipelines and point sources. AI slop might contain a nugget of information somewhere inside the slop. I think of AI slop as a 5 gallon bucket of pus with some chocolate chips in it. Is it worth fishing through it for the chocolate chips?
I would call these little bits of information inside the slop by the name AI SlopNuggets. A twenty minute AI slop video might have 20-30 seconds of Infor Nuggets in it. How can one find them without having to endure the whole twenty minute bucket of pus?

And here is a nice thing about the slider-bar pause-and-linger feature of you tube videos . . . if you can click fast enough, you can freeze the frame while a worthwhile image with stuff worth writing down is on the screen. It may be up for only a second, but with a little practice, you can learn to hit “stop” in tenths of a second and freeze the frame at the copy-worthy part.

Like another of my favorite films from years ago, an adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love directed by Ken Russell, (spoiler alert) there is a self-willed death in the high mountain snows, the Oliver Reed character. I think the film of Neruda deserved more than 6.8 of 10, but that said only gave it 4 out of 5 myself, there was a little Meta-, breaking the 4th Wall piece at the end that annoyed me. I recall the stories from NASA when computers were new. As hard as it can be to do, I would offer the following suggestion also. Have enough crash-resistant/ panic-resistant forms of actual money within your personal possession and control to where you can keep buying those goods and services whose existence you approve of . . . from mini and micro businesses whose existence you approve of . . . to keep those mini/micro goods-and-service providers in viable existence through any carefully engineered coming recession or depression.

Anybody else seen a lot of new Car Wash businesses being built in their town recently? In my town, there are three fancy new car wash joints going up along Hamburger Hill (section of Rt 1 where the fast food places are).
Three shiny new business (with very similar architecture), within a mile or so; also within a mile or so of the two existing (aging, but still quite functional) car wash businesses.
Kinda trivial, but if feels like yet another sign of the Apocalypse of End-Stage Capitlism. The similar architecture, sitting, and marketing make me wonder if they’re all owned by the same Vulture Capital Corp, stupidly competing against itself.

There is AI slop and AI sewage. AI sewage is pure digital pollution emanating from a million billion pipelines and point sources. AI slop might contain a nugget of information somewhere inside the slop. I think of AI slop as a 5 gallon bucket of pus with some chocolate chips in it. Is it worth fishing through it for the chocolate chips?
I would call these little bits of information inside the slop by the name AI SlopNuggets. A twenty minute AI slop video might have 20-30 seconds of Infor Nuggets in it. How can one find them without having to endure the whole twenty minute bucket of pus?
Here is an AI slop video for people to practice on if they wish. I have watched a few-couple of this sort of video, mainly about gardening,and am beginning to work out their predictable format, and am working out ways to fast-forward slider-bar through the pus to just hear the nuggets.
And here is a nice thing about the slider-bar pause-and-linger feature of you tube videos . . . if you can click fast enough, you can freeze the frame while a worthwhile image with stuff worth writing down is on the screen. It may be up for only a second, but with a little practice, you can learn to hit “stop” in tenths of a second and freeze the frame at the copy-worthy part.

I guess the “Latinos don’t exist” argument is by someone who hasn’t read much history. Like another of my favorite films from years ago, an adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love directed by Ken Russell, (spoiler alert) there is a self-willed death in the high mountain snows, the Oliver Reed character. I think the film of Neruda deserved more than 6.8 of 10, but that said only gave it 4 out of 5 myself, there was a little Meta-, breaking the 4th Wall piece at the end that annoyed me. Car washes. I gotta laugh. What a prosaic way to clean your dirty money, so to speak. Is there clean money? Rhetorical question. But the stuff actually stinks. Long ago when I had to count the days take in a restaurant where I cut my teeth, there was lots of cash and it stank. Made me feel a bit unclean. Certainly wouldn’t put anything in mouth afterwards without a thorough hand wash.
So, some entrepreneurs find it more prestigious to invest their filthy lucre in a restaurant. Happens all the time. I recall when the Ukrainian mafia took over a botique hotel and restaurant in my Costa Rica neighborhood, and I remarked to a friend that I found them an unsavory lot to which he replied, they can launder their money in any toilet they want. I recall the stories from NASA when computers were new. As hard as it can be to do, I would offer the following suggestion also. Have enough crash-resistant/ panic-resistant forms of actual money within your personal possession and control to where you can keep buying those goods and services whose existence you approve of . . . from mini and micro businesses whose existence you approve of . . . to keep those mini/micro goods-and-service providers in viable existence through any carefully engineered coming recession or depression.
I remember way back in public school in Knoxville, Tennessee ( I forget what grade), a teacher telling us all an offered-as-true story about a local rich woman in her own town who all through the Depression kept ordering work done on her mansion. And work redone. And re redone. And re re redone. She slow-burned through most of her money. All the townsfolk felt that she must be at some level crazy.
