I am just now watching a Guard The Leaf video which is discussing the spread of AI totally-fake videos pretending to be real people spreading all around the internet.
He referrences a George Conway video that people keep sending him and says it is a fake AI video pretending to be the real George Conway. It makes me wonder how many other ” George Conway” videos are AI fake slop. And which ones.

I don’t know for absolutely certain, as I can’t watch the linked video because the account has been suspended (which should tell one something), but this smells like bullshit. Are we shipping grain directly to Mexico? Sure. Is this material compared to the total scale of trade? Does it represent a loss to the US because we aren’t shipping through US ports? No, not in the slightest.
I grew up in the region and in the industry and I can tell you that we have never thought for a nanosecond about US control over how we reach global grain markets. No matter how much Conway et.al allude to big changes, there’s nothing for the US to lose, no matter how clever we Canucks supposedly are. The industry just doesn’t work that way. This is a legacy business, dependant on infrastructure going back 100 years or more – it’s a thin margin trade, oriented east-west, with very little north-south except for domestic consumption.

I know my first impression on seeing the tatoo in the picture was that it was some kind of notzi swassika. But I read the comments to find out and someone very early offered that it was the mark of the U. S. Navy Hull Maintainance Technician. And a commenter offered the wiki for ” U.S. Navy Hull Maintainance Technician” to illustrate the point.
