This is the transcript of Aaron Siri’s court deposition of Kathryn Edwards who is considered one of the top if not the top vaccine expert in the world.
Note: in the quotes there will periodically be dots and numbers these are left there so you can use the control find feature to find the quote.
(Part 2)
Q- (1986 act) gave vaccine manufacturers immunity from 19· ·economic liability for injuries caused by 20· ·vaccines; correct?
A- That is correct
A- Dr. Edwards has funding for research 13· ·from Connaught and Lederle-Praxis and is on their 14· ·speakers’ bureaus.· She’s also a consultant for 15· ·SKB.
(Edwards earlier lied about her conflicts of interests so Siri provided Plaintiff’s 2 exhibit no. 3 to prove she was lying)
Q- consultant for SmithKline Beecham; correct?
A- Yes
Q- Can varicella vaccine cause and ·7· ·result in pneumonia?
A- yes.
Q- Can varicella vaccine cause and result 10· ·in encephalitis?
A- It can
Q- Can varicella vaccine cause an infection of 14· ·the brain?
A- yes
Q- Can varicella vaccine cause and result in 18· ·meningitis?
A- yes
(similar answers for all vaccines)
Q- Do you have any study one way ·2· ·or another of whether IPOL causes autism?
A- no, I do not
(Provides same answer for all vaccines)
Q- Are you familiar with the HPV ·8· ·Gardasil clinical trials?
A- Yes, sir, I am
Q- that it had an AAH (aluminum) control and a 11· ·saline placebo control; correct?
A- yes
Q- 2.3 percent of the 18· ·previous healthy girls developed — reported 19· ·incidences in a condition potentially indicative 20· ·of systemic autoimmune disorder; correct?
(She refuses to answer because 2.3% of the vaccine groups developed an autoimmune disease compared to 0% for the placebo. Note: almost every vaccine has aluminum in it)
(She ends with saying that since vaccines cause so many adverse reactions using a placebo shouldn’t be done)
Q- what you’re saying is the 17· ·assumption is vaccines will all cause reactions (so we have to) compare giving vaccines to giving vaccines (then) you’ll never know what the safety profile of any (vaccine is, correct?)
A- I’m not going to answer that.
Q- Has there ever been a study which looked at ·5· ·the total of the children following the CDC ·6· ·vaccine schedule such as Yates to 18 months and ·7· ·those that have not received these products, ·8· ·meaning they were completely unvaccinated?
(She refuses to answer but does go on for a page about how it’s hard and can’t be done)
Q- (I’ve asked vaccinologists and doctors this before I always find it surprising that) there seems to be an incredible ·6· ·opposition to performing this analysis
(Siri then provides 4 studies comparing completely unvaccinated kids with vaccinated. All showed vaccines cause massive amounts of chronic illnesses. One of the studies was randomized which showed 5times more deaths)
Q- Can MMR cause brain damage?
A- Not in a normal healthy subject
(Siri provide Plaintiff’s Exhibit 16 which is the VIS from the CDC )
Q- under severe events occurring very ·4· ·rarely, it lists brain damage; correct?
A- Yes

The Jesus Crucifixion and Resurrection Iceberg Explained
(Explaining things many know, and things many don’t know, and citing the differences in canon between the four gospels and Acts; while interviewing a famous Biblical Scholar. For example, “was Jesus buried, and why?” as it was far more typical to leave the body of the crucified up to decompose and as food for scavengers. Or “who were the thieves?” as simple thieving wouldn’t get you crucified, it had to be a state offense, so these were more likely Zealots. And also how the accounts become increasingly more anti-Jewish as time passes.)
> “Empires end ugly and stupid. The rule of incompetence in late Imperial rulership maintains its record. I expected stupid, but it’s still flabbergasting to witness late Imperial Roman levels of moronitude.”
I presume this also applies to the Russian empire that Vladimir Putin seems bent on resurrecting.
Reflexiones en expatriados, or in my native tongue, reflections on expatriates, or more like what it’s like to be one in these times.
Thinking of mi ‘mano señor Level who seems Mexico bound soon. Suerte Marcos. Hope it works out well.
I lived the expat life in younger days and easier times, though it was always hard scrabble and hand to mouth, and it still is with some notable differences.
One is I’m in my own culture and region, which is both remote and alternative, ie, not mainstream.
Secondly, I live off the grid with solar energy and clean well water, neither of which cost me money.
Thirdly, I have access to local organic food across a broad spectrum, which I provide to others in a unique setting that nourishes my own needs and sensibilities.
Fourth, while still active and fully functioning in body and mind, I’m looking down the gun barrel at life’s end, so I wish to age and die in place.
A few years ago I thought about Mexico. I have connections there and speak the language and am simpatico with the culture. And the food’s more than all right by me. But the noise and turmoil, the crazed contemporary culture and politics weren’t worth the price.
As one ages, one’s comfort zone shrinks. For those with the resilience and means, I say go for it if there’s an opportunity and improvement in relocation to a foreign culture.
One has to consider the percentages. The best one can attain is 60% in the positive with 40% in the negative. Usually it’s more like 80% negative with 20% positive, but do your own calculations. It’s up to you.
I’m going to live with what I’ve got and give it my best shot.
Wishing all here the best with their lives and directions. May all be auspicious.
Wanna hear something weird from the animal world?
So I live in an environment where rabbits hop about and chipmunks scurry and scramble rapid pace like they’re doing speed. But cute, you know?
So yesterday while walking a path I saw a chipmunk dragging a dead bunny into a rock wall opening. The rabbit’s eyes were bloodied and this chipmunk fucker with his buddy who was assisting had obviously killed the bunny and they were hell bent on guarding their kill.
This morning I passed by the same site and saw the bloody exposed bunny body with flies buzzing on it. Two hours later the carcass was gone.
The animal world is bizarre and freaky is all I’m saying. But I dig it nonetheless.
And oh yeah, I watched a deer eating poppies today.
Everything likes to eat and get high.
Enjoy what you’ve got while you’ve got it wherever you may dwell.
Belle of the Ranch offers a video called:
“Let’s talk about Canada sinking a US warship, a bridge, and what it means….”
( That’s a teaser-title, meant to elicit ” clickonit” interest. But the video is worth clickoning and watching). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuGga9D-r4o
A few-couple months ago, Guard the Leaf noted that a Belle of the Ranch video understood the roots of Canadian displeasure in a way that not one single other American media-source had to that point. In some way he asked her a question about whether there was anything Canadians could do to somehow assist Blue Americans who voted their hardest against Trump. She did a video in reply in which she said, the sentiment is much appreciated but Americans are so isolated in their American Exceptionalism echo silo that any such help if overtly offered and understood to have been offered would merely offend the vast majority of American Exceptionalists. Oh well . . .
My lunch is almost over and then back to work, but I might offer some of my own American Ordinarian thoughts about that.
Here is a Jake Tapper video about Abdul el-Sayed, the ( mainstreamal normie) Democrats, and the coming general election. I don’t have time to watch it at all. Since it is Jake Tapper, I already know what it will say, for the most part. So I don’t know if it is even worth clickety-watching . . . unLESS . . . you are minded to do a speculative Political Science experiment ( observational).
And here is the proposed observational experiment . . . IF it happens that way . . . IF el-Sayed wins the MichiDem Nomination . . . watch and see which Dems don’t vote for him. And which go so far as to vote for the KlanMAGA Republican.
And SEParately, watch to see what percent of the Michigan Black Vote votes which way. I won’t make any predictions, but the result of THAT particular voting bloc breakdown will be VERY suggestive of the looming future.
The Russian Proto-Empire is building new colleges across the country. The last new college in the US was that anti-woke thing in Austin; the only previous one I know of is the christian evangelist colleges in the 70s (Liberty College I think?) Are there any more new colleges in the US?
fascism is simply the capitalist response to socialism.
to me understanding what fascism is really boils down to four basic tenets, all other results are simply by products of fascism, those by products are many, and take all sorts of forms that befuddle those who try to pin down what fascism is.
the first one, the elevation of capital over labor. this is a act of violence. and it can take many forms. under woodrew wilsons fascism, that elevation was police goons and national guardsmen busting unions, and throwing union organizers in jail. a form of violence.
bill clinton found a way around that, simply by pass the violent acts of elevating capital over labor, by allowing capital to simply pick up and move, leaving behind vast areas of america, to rot into ghettos, a form of violence.
the second through forth ones are, the elevation of capital over sovereignty, democratic control, and civil society. this is a massive act of violence that allows capital free reign over a entire nation, or nations.
the by product is, if the capitalists decides they want a entire nation, or nations, they use economic intimidation, coercion, and domination via free trade agreements.
if the target nation, or nations rebel, the economic acts of violence are replaced with actual physical acts of violence, such as terrorism and war. again, all by products of fascism.
if certain people, or peoples stand in the way of capital, first comes economic violence, if that does not work, then genocide, actual physical violence. again, a by product of fascism.
i am certain we could find many other by products. these are the most obvious ones.
so its not really hard to understand what fascism is, nor identify who are and who are not fascists.
so its the elevation of capital over everything, and the violence in many forms are the by product used to attain that goal.
most people who are fascists, do not even know they are fascists.
Jorge, America could not build another college ever again and it will still have a overhanging glut of colleges. Building colleges these days is nothing to brag about considering colleges are yet another boondoggle for technocrats. At the rate Russia is losing young men, who will be left to “attend” these colleges being built in Russia? At this rate, Russia is like China except Russia will have many more women than men but hey, at least the women will be college educated. Yes, broke and dirt poor from being fleeced ten times over, but the college edumacation will more than take care of it.
The editor of the Economist, interviewed Elon Musk. I don’t like The Economist, but she was taken to task on X for questioning Musk’s interventions on UK race and his not-so-hidden Islamophobia, e.g. he spoke at Tommy Robinson’s fascist march in London
Then there is Craig Tindale, who shot to some fame on his supply chain analyses of oil derivatives given Hormuz closure (and who bizarrely labeled The Economist “left”). He dresses his race-baiting in pseudo-intellectual garb:
capitalism is always in crises, its when people get their eyes opened as to what capitalism is, and what socialism is, then out comes the gun to save capitalism.
Gracias a Jorge, another member of the so-called “Reality-Based Community.” These clowns can’t keep their stories straight. The late Ms. Lindsey Graham Cracker admitted the goal, “to fight to the last Ukrainian”, looming closer every day, less than 5% of the Donbass remains to be taken, Odessa is fully blockaded by the “destroyed” Black Sea Fleet, the “Shadow Fleet,” days back the Maersk Corporation announced no more Containers can enter the Odessa Ports. A city built by the Russians, Catherine the Great not the only one. The Catherine the Great UNESCO World Heritage Site torn down by the Banderist loonies, a Nazi Memorial put in its place, nobody in the U.N. said a word, “yawn.” Ukraine now landlocked, for decades if not centuries. Pat one another on the back, losers!! That Nazi Memorial will be short-lived, destroyed in 6-8 months at most.
LAS’ preferred False Narrative, Category Error, assert facts without evidence– “At the rate Russia is losing young men, who will be left to “attend” these colleges . . . ” 6 weeks or more ago, the Cocaine Comedian refused to exchange prisoners, bad PR, let the living ones rot in a Russian “Gulag”, over 320 Ukros to be traded for 12 or fewer Russians . . . so who’s “winning”!!?
Oh, Jorge, that Austin, TX College your referring to is Bari Weiss’ Fake Right-“Woke” college, can’t even issue valid degrees. But she moved upward & onward to Daddy Larry Ellison and pere’s NBC, should be NBZ, National Broadcasting Zionist Corporation, killed off 60 Minutes which was moribund and CIA-controlled prior, now is Zio-Run, pro-Genocide. Which is obviously fine with the Banderists, though their leader Biletsky announced his life’s mission “to exterminate the Semitic Untermenschen.”
Nazism and Banderism seemingly opposed, but fired up by same philosophy as Trump ICE, “Kill the Other, All of Them, They’re Not Like Us, Subhuman.”
Have to repeat myself, no reply the previous 6 times– is Russia (a) about to collapse? or (b) about to sweep West thru the Baltics, Scandinavia etc? You can’t have both on the same timeline.
To mago, thanks for the good wishes, yes, don’t want to talk too much about my plans and jinx them. Will have at least one friend and possibly 2 going South with me, safer in groups. Looking at an area with no pandillas (gangs) but there is a certain chaotic element in various areas, of course, thank to USA War to Promote Drugs, Guns, Chaos. Hey, Mexico at least ain’t Venezuela. Friend of mine Costa Rica Bound at around the same time. Living in New Mexico now, Spanish at near perfect levels, will miss it but Mexico Viejo preferable.
Trump hasn’t bombed Iran in 48 hours. Report says General Caine informed him all the various US commands, in Europe, China, elsewhere nearly empty of missiles, gotta feign negotiations. And the band played on . . .
The potatoes I planted are growing well. Some flowered a little. Potatoes are easy to plant and easy to grow. And so many features to select about. Long storage, to begin with. Then, how many potatoes per plant? Spread around or clustered around the root system? Stalks long , rambly and viny? Or stiff and standing up as long as they can? Flowers a plain white or pretty pale pink-purple?
Most recently, I planted a bunch of holdover potatoes which did sprout but in a most interesting way. Each one had a single sprout 8-12 inches long and no other sprouts at all. So I dug a shallow wide flat-bottomed trench and laid them out diagonally head-to-toe next to eachother and then covered them with soil and dry grass after that. They are growing well.
My first corn seed planting failed. So I dug up a couple of holes to try figuring out how and why. The clay-heavy soil had formed air-tight caps over the corn seed. The few kernels I found were semi-soft and fermenting. So I re-loosened the soil in the flat-bottomed corn holes and planted hickory cane corn seed. I was as gentle as I could be and the corn came up in most of the holes. And is growing.
I planted another round of hickory cane corn even more recently in a different place and some of it is coming up now. At this late date I don’t think I will get any corn, but at least the plants will get to live and grow before they die.
Between the corn holes was growing a ” veggie-lawn” of different mixed seeds which I scatter-planted over the whole bed zone before digging corn holes into it.
Sometimes nature is very generous. Nature has given me a groundhog which I never asked for and don’t even want. But nature gave me one anyway. It goes into the beds and grazes most of the lawn-veggie plantings down to the bare soil. In one place I also scatter-planted some okra seeds. I noticed a few okra seedlings missing but the rest stay right there. Maybe the groundhog tried some and didn’t like them, and avoids the rest. The okra variety is Star Of David okra. Here’s a bunch of images of Star Of David okra. https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=AwrNa5GxU2ZqXgIAgb9XNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzEEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Nj?p=star+of+david+okra+image&fr=sfp
I let my planted garlic drown in a sea of weeds. Oh well . . . Some transplanted garlics which came up from last year’s patch are growing well-enough. Also my feral garlic in my ornamental bed is growing well, as ever. I am just letting it grow this year to see if any of them can make big bulbs under that much competition. Also I am trimming and grooming the garlic stalk-tip bulbil-heads . . . pulling off all the developing bulbils so the vestigial flowers will grow better. I will plant separately the garlics with the nicest near-ornamental allium-style flower heads.
Watching George Galloway’s MOATS just now, poll question of the week: Which country is the biggest threat to the world? Only 3 important enough to be included, China, Russia, USA.
Result: 93% say U$A, the “Winner.” 2nd place, China, 4%. Russia, definitely the largest Military Power of the 3 after a quarter century gets a pathetic 2% vote. Now, Galloway’s audience pretty Left, pro-Labor, he headed the Worker’s Party until chased out of Perfidious Albion, Anti-Authoritarian, pro-Free Speech & anti-Censorship, so the Venn diagram with the Banderist Loonies, the 2 pretty much don’t meet anywhere, far apart.
The NAFO Crew, LAS & his Peanut Gallery, must be butt-hurt. Why wasn’t Ukraine listed? It punches so big above its weight, recall at the start of the SMO, the NAFOts bayed at the Moon, “Russia is the 2nd biggest Army in Ukraine,” Ukraine reputedly Europe’s biggest, most powerful Military.
That didn’t last long, by the 2024 Ukraine Quixotic “Summer Offensive,” supposed to go several hundred miles deep into Crimea . . . they got 100 meters into the first defensive line, 1,000s killed, many more maimed. But if LAS can find one account of a WildBerries store (their Amazon) getting hit with a Grease bomb today he will again proclaim, “Ukraine has Won!! They are the new Timothy McVeigh who took out the FBI and US Deep State (and many children at an Oklahoma Federal Building Daycare center, woohoo!!) Viva Death!!
Oh, asking the sincere and useful members here at IW.Net, how many of you heard Dmitri Lascaris’ report of 2 days ago, one time the LAS speculation was sniffing something real out. 4-5 days ago, he asked why so many Refineries are being bombed worldwide? The Oil cartel trying to juice their massive profits? So what Lascaris (award-winning Canadian Lawyer, Journalist, and world traveler) reported was a massive fire at a UK Refinery, showed film as well. In the film, 2 sides of the massive facility were on fire, separately, the middle portion unscathed originally . . . Someone must’ve fired 2 bombs or missiles into the facility. But the MICIMATT has buried the story, I started looking for details the next day, and there was NOTHING, my search terms just yielded multiple posts of a 2005 accidental fire in the UK.
Forgot the name of the area hit, I think it was in the North. Tried to go back to Lascaris but that post unavailable . . . Now when the meme LAS presciently repeated goes back months, I know 3 months ago a Texas Refinery got massively hit. Texas, a Fascist, Mexican-hating R. State (but has no ICE presence despite 33% of adult workers not having papers, an R. state benefit.) Texas so racist that where I lived in Norcal had an Arroyo High School, an Arroyo being Spanish for a small stream or intermittent watercourse. Texas had a High School with essentially the same name, it was given the absurd, tongue-twister name “Shallowwater.” Moronic!!
Surprised that some bad actor would hit a Texas Refinery, few places more CHUD-friendly, very strange. Actual AntiFa hit? I think that is just a front for the government. I’m confused. Not even British media covering it? A hit maybe from Iran, or from (shudder!) Russia? Why memory-hole this, I have to wonder?
As I helped mago with a requested music link recently, can anyone fill me in on the UK refinery hit? Roughly 3 days ago, best as I recall.
Some guy newly elected head of his HOA was getting nasty emails from the head he replace so he made them into a song using himself and some AI add-ons. Its pretty funny.
Mark, I forgot to also respond to the Galloway poll. Don’t forget this global survey by Nira, which found that the US was the biggest threat, by people across the world, even in the US. If the link doesn’t take you there, it is under “global threat” in the LHS menu.
Keep saving potatoes from one season to the next, and experiment with the different qualities you’ve observed. The great thing about growing from your own seed is that, generally speaking, things adapt to your unique conditions over time and are much better suited than stuff you buy in a seed packet or nursery. You begin to have potatoes, for example, that are the “fittest” for your area. The ones that aren’t simply don’t grow as well, or for one reason or another just don’t fruit.
I love growing and eating potatoes. We’ve had a lot of success over these past few years of growing those we’ve stored over the cold season. The “best” plants are probably those that grow from volunteers: the potatoes we somehow missed during the autumn harvest, stuck around in the soil, and then sprouted months later. They seem even better-attuned to the local conditions, and may have deeper roots.
we are watching it play out right now in real time. once the populace understands what capitalism is, when its detached from socialism like it was in 1993, they start to demand socialism, the capitalist response is fascism.
and of course, its their end game, but capitalists are very clever cunning and manipulative, just not very smart.
the imbecile von mises let the cat out of the bag when he embraced fascism, is that it was to fight socialism.
that basically what WWII was all about, the capitalist response to socialism.
To be clear, we haven’t actually done anything new here. These are all latent capabilities – what we could do *if* we decided to do an end run around safeguards. Historically, we actually used to have greater capability that could be developed *much* more quickly.
The challenge with special weapons is that going down that road has some significant downsides that run directly counter to our longstanding strategy, cut us off from our allies, and automatically makes us a shit magnet. I’m much more enamoured of unconventional deterrence. (Free Pineland!)
Thank you for the kind and encouraging words. That is the hope and plan, to keep growing and observing and selecting from these potatoes over at least the next few years and see what emerges.
If it is not a chore and a bore to respond to questions . . .
Are there any special information sources about potatoes that you especially recommend?
Is there any crop or crops which grow better than any others in a place one year after potatoes have been grown in that place?
Is there any crop or crops you can grow in a place which help potatoes grow more-better the next year in that place more than any other crop?
Have you done any companion planting of potatoes with other plants around or among them at the same time? If so, which companions and combinations seemed to work really well for you?
Just finished a brilliant film from my favorite movie platform, “Mubi”, “Self-Criticism of a Bourgeois Dog.” Directed by Julius Radlmeir, mostly German caste, BUT then multicultural group at the Apple Farm. A formerly successful film-maker, broke and on welfare (still somewhat generous in Germany, it seems) has a crush on a woman he’s met in passing on Facebook, Camille. I’ll call him FM, for Film Maker. At the Museum where he constantly hangs out, he runs across C and her glamorous Goth girlfriend (Platonic.) She wants to ignore FM, he’s a shy nerd, but her Goth friend is like, “He’s so handsome, sophisticated, dreamy,” so she gives him a chance.
To look glamorous, he tells her he’s recently committed to Communism, and wants to make his next film about it, and cast her in it. She lives with her parents and isn’t doing much, looks about 20. Since he’s on welfare the State has demanded he go to work on an Apple Farm, owned by a heartless corporation, the owner is a Deutsche robot, her #2 lackey who carries the umbrella threatens all the workers. She should come with him to the apple farm, they will learn how “The Workers” live, then can co-write and direct the film. She has nothing better to do, joins.
They’re initially doing okay, BUT the men are burdened with a Fascist Dude, sociopath, in their dorm. The bald fascist, Murad, with a cool mustache, was in jail age 18, makes up a romantic story for Camille, he was arrested stealing wood from a local landowner’s fence to stay alive with a fire, abandoned youth. His politics are exactly that of LAS, we are all isolated monads who must fight others to survive, lie, steal, beat up, be a Great Man all must bow before (Bandera much? Or the mustache man himself?) The 6 men in the dorm have a vote about whether the window stays open while they sleep first night. 5 to 1 against Murad. He tells them he doesn’t believe in democracy, gets up and forcibly shuts the window. Anyone want to fight with ME? They’re all too scared . . .
The behavior of many apple-pickers follows this dog-eat-dog mentality. They have to work in pairs, whichever pair does the most that day gets a 20-Euro Gift card. 2 central characters with FM and Murad are Sancho, and Hong. Hong is a former Korean, old man, came to Germany as a child with his parents. Sancho is a dopey-looking guy, but an amazing Apple-picker. They both worked at the Art Museum, were there on the day that a Durer painting and a Fire-Extinguisher were stolen, dismissed and desperate. Hong suffers from Narcolepsy, constantly dozes off while standing, Sancho reads comics all day, inattentive . . .
Murad is a sneak-thief. Sancho and Hong always fall asleep out in the field with their apple-sacks full, at midnite he comes out and steals 60% or more of their picks. But when Sancho wakens first, and sees the emptier baskets, he immediately steals from Hong, no loyalty in dog-eat-dog Late Capitalism.
Murad usually wins the extra certificate, but has bigger plans, eventually escalates to selling the stolen apples to a nearby competing syndicate for a higher price. FM is afraid Camille is Murad’s lover, coz she likes his dynamic masculinity. But he’s not into her except for flirting, just wants money. They’re going around doing okay initially until Mr. Market steps in. The Americans just sent a massive, many ton shipment of Granny Smith Apples into Germany, suddenly the market crashes, the Martinet Fascist Corporate Queen informs them they will need to raise their daily harvest by 40%, work more than 8 hours daily, whatever it takes!! They are pure victims.
Though it seems set today, film made c. 2018, the older workers have lived under Communism; most hated it, a few are sorry the Dream died. Then there are the fascist-internalized Reactionaries, “We must obey the Law!! We must obey the Authorities!!” Self-hating German robots. There’s about 30 of them left picking after a few smart ones leave for greener pastures. They debate doing a Wildcat Strike, or driving out the Bosses and starting an Anarcho-Communist Collective. No clear decision is made, too divided. Then a stray, Discordian element comes into the mix!!
A tall, gawky looking mute in a Robe and Tonsure, an illegal immigrant with no papers appears. Hong asks him if he is St. Francis. Shakes his head no. Is he a Francis wanna-be? Yes, 100%. He is pure Love, he can whistle but not speak. He is a super-dynamic apple picker, but gives all his apples away, initially to Murad who senses his weakness. Once he is to receive the 20 Euro voucher as best picker, refuses, runs away, he won’t touch money or paperwork, he lives in the field like an animal, prays for holiness.
Murad comes to love the Silent Monk (who I will ironically call SM), and becomes less mean and less of a bully. Moral example. But for most, the desperation and overwork become worse, day by day. When the Owner and her Lackey bring the police in, because Murad’s outselling has been discovered, they see SM is an immigrant from unknown parts, no papers, want to arrest him but he runs away. He is near Murad when the owner sees them, she starts screaming “Immigrant scum! You’re going to jail!” runs to grab him. Murad reflexively strikes her in the head, she falls down bleeding from her forehead, seems to have died. The lackey walks off, unconcerned. Many nearby pickers observed the violence, decide they are now Free, no Bosses!!
They have a debate, it is robust, Communists have Commisars who are pigs (Animal Farm), what about “Communism without Communists?”, essentially Anarcho-Communism (if such a thing could ever exist, outside of ancient tribal societies, leaderless.) But Murad is now enthusiastically pro-Communist, Individualist Communist, we are all free and equal, no bosses, we will reap the fruits of the earth directly from the land!! Even the most reactionary start to lean Left, Cat’s away, mice can play.
They decide to make a final commitment the following morning, prepare for a giant shared party when they wake, apple wine, shared food and provisions. They are all doing this, feeling great. But the Tyrant was just knocked out and returns, climbs atop their Feast Table, “Get Back to Work, you lazy slugs!!” Shrieking. They run away from her, nobody wants to go back to the status quo, will work in small groups secretly, etc.
Now the film switches to the most central characters, though once they WERE going Communist, the Boozhie FM grabs his suitcase and slinks off back to Berlin, was never sincere. So 4 central characters remain, Hong, Sancho, Camille and the SM. The monk prays all night while the others are sleeping for a miracle. In the morning he generates a couple: 1. He understands the language of Birds, whistles to him, they tell him things back. (This is not just Christian Mysticism, Conference of the Birds a Persian classic, easily found on Wikipedia.) They are skeptical. He performs his 2nd miracle, puts a tiny bird egg into Camille’s hand, closes it. She reopens it and there are 3 eggs!! Loaves and fishes!!
What did the birds tell him? They said that Communism was coming, but not to Germany, to Italy, they just need to walk there, the 4 of them, with their minimal belongings (backpacks, knife, etc.) Live off the land. They embark, are told that when they get there, Italy will be wholly Communist.
It’s not true. Hong concludes, “The birds lied, we know they do this!” First victim at the border, laser light of the police on the Monks’ neck, he is taken away to jail (but is fearless, committed to God), the other 3 are allowed in. They initially have luck, are outside a church where an elderly man and his wife are selling farm products, veggies, etc. They believe all is shared, Hong and Sancho take a pile of the food, say thank you and start to walk away. The man is apoplectic, Where’s my money? They say are you going to call the police? He says why bother when I could just beat your asses? Sancho has a German-Italian dictionary and answers him back. Don’t you love us, don’t you share? When they first came in the first man they saw was in Red & Black soccer gear, they raise the fist like the Black Panthers, he responds in kind. One runs and asks are you an Anarcho-Communist? No reply he just walks away, just reciprocal support no politics. Anyway, the wife defends the “Thieves”, “These are the poor in spirit, we need to give them the food.” So a victory, though temporary. Camille is young and pretty and finds a retail job, must’ve soon called her parents for a plane ticket home. Sancho and Hong sleep out in public, run from the police when they hear sirens, soon enough caught and jailed as paupers.
Time-slip in the movie: In the beginning there was a beautiful, white long-nosed dog who was a stand-in for FM, thinking aloud dialogue that might come from needy FM.
Scene switch. FM inherited money when off the farm, made a new film based on everything that happened, it is hugely successful, large audience applauds the brilliance. Much of the “cast” is there, Camille, the Monk, some others sans Hong and Sancho. He’s doing a Q & A, why is your film so Pessimistic? Well, good answers, Globalism is huge and controls everything, he did research, a Century ago people knew what class solidarity IS, now nobody does. Etc. Now he’s nearly done absorbing the approval, it must be his hubris, the Monk turns him into that dog from the beginning!! The whole audience sees the Man has disappeared, a white dog replaced him. Miracle #3.
It ends with Camille, the bourgeois dog and the Monk outside the Italian prison, digging a tunnel to rescue Hong and Sancho. Just brilliant writing, switchbacks. Here’s a link to a professional review. I loved it. (It would be radioactive to LAS, evil Love of the other, + Humanism.)
While I know nothing of your particular climate – and potatoes can grow in a lot of places – I’m eager to share plenty of hints and tips from my personal experience. Also, I’m a resident at Wheaton Labs, which is closely connected to permies dot com. If you have time to spare, have a look at this particular discussion thread for some inspiration:
If I were to plant some companions for potatoes, I’d consider something that has a different profile. For example, potatoes turn into a kind of shrub, so I’d look for something nice and tall:
– sunflowers
– sunchokes/Jerusalem artichokes
– real artichokes (quite different from Jerusalem artichokes)
– okra
– mmmmmmaybe trellis/pole beans
– trees
– onions and garlic (which stay narrow, and don’t really compete with taters)
We have a variety of onion called “Egyptian walking onion,” which is extremely prolific and grows throughout the year. Bulbs are small, but are packed with flavor. I avoid growing grains like corn and wheat, because they are, generally speaking, nutrient hogs and seriously deplete the soil. Totally another topic, that.
In terms of prepping beds/areas for potatoes, why not try helpful cover crops?
– clover of various kinds
– alfalfa
– daikon radish (plant in spring if you want seeds and foliage, plant in mid-summer if you want veggies, and I mean BIG radishes)
– wild peas
Let the nitrogen-fixing stuff live there for a growing season, or throw the seed there in the late autumn and it’ll over-winter and start before you do. Beyond the above, consider perennials, those that self-seed, and those that are prolific without much in the way of human help. Everything can work to break up compacted soil, and if you lay down the organic matter it will help add nutrients and keep the soil broken-up and easier for potatoes to grow.
Round here, we grow our vegetables and trees on mounds, called “hugelkultur.” Think of a big berm (at least 5ft tall, though our manager “stacks functions” and likes hugels 7ft tall or more) with rotted logs buried in the middle. Potatoes grow anywhere from the middle down on those.
And let the tater foliage see the sun…! Lots of people bury the shrub so only a little green is still exposed, but in my experience excessive mounding over the leaves and branches doesn’t seem to improve the yield. It’s also my recommendation to avoid tips from those AI-produced videos talking about “Amish potato hacks” and shit like that. Unless you have a lot of hands to help (and money to burn, I guess), most of that juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
Lots of junk advice out there, while hopefully mine turns out helpful. Best of success to you…!
Thank you for all this information. You are clearly doing more than I am and this is a lot of information to try doing something about over the next couple of years.
I am in Ann Arbor, which is in SouthEast Michigan, for a climate zone hint. It can get perhaps a little colder than Detroit at times, given how close Detroit is to large ‘ thermal-flywheel’ bodies of water. Windsor, Canada would have the exact same climate as Detroit.

A- Yes
Q- Lowered consciousness?
A- Yes.
Q- Coma?
A- Yes.
Q- Long-term seizures?
A- Yes.
Q- Deafness?
A- Yes.

Oh well . . .

Two examples:
Mario Nawfal, who somehow manages to interview some good people on Iran (like Marandi and Magnier), but is clearly an empty shell:

Then there is Craig Tindale, who shot to some fame on his supply chain analyses of oil derivatives given Hormuz closure (and who bizarrely labeled The Economist “left”). He dresses his race-baiting in pseudo-intellectual garb:

Here are some random garlic images. Some of the show the stalk-top bulbil head. In some of those pictures you can see white threads among the bulbils. Those are the vestigial flowers. If you tweeze off all the developing bulbils, the vestigial flowers become a little better than vestigial.

@different clue:
Best of continued success with your garden…!

we are watching it play out right now in real time. once the populace understands what capitalism is, when its detached from socialism like it was in 1993, they start to demand socialism, the capitalist response is fascism.
and of course, its their end game, but capitalists are very clever cunning and manipulative, just not very smart.
the imbecile von mises let the cat out of the bag when he embraced fascism, is that it was to fight socialism.
that basically what WWII was all about, the capitalist response to socialism.

Header: Potato Questions
@sbt42,
Thank you for the kind and encouraging words.
Mark Level

Re: Potato Questions
While I know nothing of your particular climate – and potatoes can grow in a lot of places – I’m eager to share plenty of hints and tips from my personal experience. Also, I’m a resident at Wheaton Labs, which is closely connected to permies dot com. If you have time to spare, have a look at this particular discussion thread for some inspiration:
https://permies.com/t/70572/Permie-potato-beds

@sbt42,
Thank you for all this information.
