I am seeing stories that Google is blocking searches about ” Donald Trump dementia”.
I haven’t tried it myself because Google is such a physically ugly and anti-useful search engine for so many things . . . in my experience. So I will just take these stories’s word for it.

I decided to try seeing if Yahoo’s All The Web search engine is also blocking searches about ” Donald Trump dementia”. I see that it is not blocking them. It is bringing me articles about ” Donald Trump dementia” just fine. So maybe Yahoo’s All The Web is a better search engine to search for things with? Maybe people should just give up on Google?

The Ukraine War continues its grinding stalemate along the line of contact. If I had to guess — and mostly I do have to guess, because there is little information beyond the maps marked up by obsessives from drone footage — the Russians are “winning” and the Ukrainians are sustaining disproportionate casualties and loss of capacity.

More interesting is the escalation of conflict between the EU/NATO and Russia out of theatre. Moldova staged elections where the EU candidate prevailed with a heavy thumb on the scales; parties were banned, extraterritorial polling places strategically deployed. The Russian position in Transnistria is increasingly threatened. Protesters tried to storm the Presidential Palace in Georgia — supposedly they want to restore the former French Ambassador as Georgian President. Meanwhile France hijacked a ship on the high seas for being Russian-owned. Airports across Europe have been closed in panics over reports of (Russian) drones in the vicinity. Finland is lining its border with Russia with barbed wire and tank barriers. Estonia complains about Russian planes overflying its territorial waters going in and out of Leningrad. Poland has blocked a Chinese-backed rail link that passes through Belarus.

In the War of Narratives, Russia is both a powerful threat and a paper tiger. The pitiful military capability of Britain or Estonia rarely comes up. Still no definitive word on who blew up Nordstream.

I have written before that I do not see a way for Russia to force a peace on Ukraine by military means. Maybe there is a way to force a settlement, but I do not see it.

I can imagine a collapse in which Ukraine’s state administration ceases to function well enough to carry on combat along a defended frontier line of contact. That may be coming sooner rather than later. I think the Ukrainians are now sustaining disproportionate losses of men and materiel despite being mostly on the defensive. But, the Russians do not have the resources for an occupation or reconstruction of the whole of Ukraine. I think the Europeans are angling for a ceasefire, after which the European powers can deploy an occupying force that the Russians would be reluctant to attack, with a war of economic attrition and sanctions continuing indefinitely.

For Russia, the best path forward would be regime overthrow and civil war inside rump Ukraine, with a new regime taking power too weary to continue open hostilities. And, some regime change across Europe with more Russia-friendly regimes taking power. So far, Russia seems to be losing that struggle, in Syria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, etc. Hard to say about Hungary, but the EU remains implacable.

Ukraine will lose when ot has no more ability to resist. All the (obsolete) weapons in the world won’t help it if there’s noone left to operate them. They’re at about the point of drafting old women and 3 legged dogs and newly trained battalions are deserting on the way to the front. The Russians are content to largely stand on the defensive and fight a war of attrition, which they know they will win. The threats of the EU they find laughable, with tiny armies, obsolete equipment and 2 weeks worth of ammumition. They would hunt bears with Corgis. Not to mentiom 600K Russian troops standing im reserve, in case NATO decides to get frisky.

  4. Mark Level

While I think many of bruce w’s concerns are valid, I agree with DMC that the inevitable can only be forestalled, it cannot be stopped. The Euro-Elites are just as insane as the Trump team, they live in a delusional, self-created false “Narrative” divorced from Reality. Ukraine can rebuild disabled Russian diversionary drones, then send them over Poland, then scream “the sky is falling”, but they are children pissing their pants over their own fantasies.

Yes, they can tax their citizens to death in a vain hope to “defeat” or “destroy” Russia, they can applaud the destruction of Nordstream in Germany and pay 4 or 5x as much for energy and deindustrialize, but all the King’s Corgis (hat tip to DMC) and all the King’s boys and 62 year old troops cannot put Ukraine back together again. Also, cancelling political parties, elections, etc. in the name of “combating Authoritarianism” is a mug’s game, it’s like bingeing and purging to “diet”.

Mercouris and Christoforou did a good piece on the incoherence of Trump’s plans to attack Venezuela soon. Mercouris said he didn’t even see “an American government” doing anything to address or resolve US problems (deficits, mass shootings, deaths due to insufficient healthcare would be some that I would point to), it is all battling NeoCon factions and preening insecurity by the likes of the booze-besotted Pete Hegseth.

Censorship is alive on YouTube today, I tuned into Dmitri Lascaris’ Reason 2 Resist as he did a piece on how Trump was (temporarily I am confident) demanding Israel stop bombing Gazans today as Hamas has (partially, but not viz demilitarization) accepted the Zionist-Trump “Piece” plan. About 12 minutes in, the audio was suddenly killed, then when I refreshed, the link died with a warning from YTube’s Censorship bureau, “This video is private”!! (Yes, private as in the original Greek meaning of Idiot, the Idiots at YTube decided too much truth is dangerous.)

There’s also supposed to be an imminent attack on Iran in which the US participates, but the military folks like Larry Johnson & Colonel Wilkerson scoff that the US does not have the staff or competence to fight in 2 separate theaters of war concurrently.

And a Trumpian 3rd front is in Chicago, Memphis, etc. where the “Enemy Within” is being attacked, beaten, pepper sprayed etc. indiscriminately under the new Reichs Marshall Stephen Miller’s updated “racial” laws by Federalized DHS/ICE, “G-ICE-Stapo” (saw this on a car’s back window yesterday in Santa Fe, NM) . . . even many local cops are evidently refusing to join in in brutalizing their own residents.

The upside of Trump’s senility + ADHD is that he’s throwing new balls into the air every day, forgetting the ones already there and thus achieving little or nothing. His former fixer Michael Cohen admitted that when they worked together, they would create a new false “Sensation” story every morning to divert from what they really planned to do. Make the Mark look the other way while you pick his pocket . . . It’d be nice if his insane lust for a Nobel “Piece” prize led to a forced Cease Fire on the Zionist entity’s part, but I mostly expect they will pull out some Epstein pics to share with him and get back to the Industrial Genocide.

I think these people’s arrogance has stupified them to the point that they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction. They will destroy many, many innocent lives on the way (see Gaza and the West Bank currently) but Malcolm X’s chickens will come home to roost eventually. The mentality is of a serial killer or serial arsonist who cannot stop. But those generally are made to stop, eventually.

Ukraine will fall, the eastern districts will be ethnically cleansed, and the new state added as Novorossiya. Rump Ukraine in the west will be a failed state. All Russia has to do is wait for Ukraine to throw the last of their young men and women into the grinder, and the fatbkady will sing.

Before the fat lady belts out an aria we’re going to see another war from the world’s favorite warmonger, because distractions are needed in times of confusion and failure.

And who’s the likely target? Behind door #1 Venezuela. Behind door #2 China, and behind door #3 Iran.

And the winner ladies and gentlemen is, (checks notes) Iran! They’ll be receiving bombs and missile and drone attacks by the full moon funded by taxpayers and sent by their drunken dumb and psychotic leaders.
Nobody wins everybody loses, while Israelis cheer.

I just saw Tom Friedman, Mustache of Understanding, tell Bill Maher that the Ukraine War was “the greatest freedom fight on the planet right now”.

It is hard to fathom the Deep Unreality that many American and European commentators are living in, casualties and perpetrators of the War of Narratives. As the U.S. military has become increasingly feeble, losing one pointless war after another, the Great Wurlitzer of Righteousness has grown in its capacity to grind out popular tunes untouched by critical thought concerning morality, history, logic or evidence.

Friedman talking to Bill Maher endorsed the idea that an alleged incursion of “20”Russian drones was deliberate Russian aggression and scorned the Secretary of State’s cautious skepticism. Estonia’s claim that a Russian plane had violated their air space was more evidence of Russian aggression.

Friedman, who is a comically talentless hack as a writer, has been authoring foreign policy commentary as a NY Times columnist for thirty years and was a foreign correspondent for something like 15 years before that. He’s supposedly an experienced adult of mature judgment.

If Friedman were an oddity, his affinity for comic book narratives, his historical amnesia and his credulity would be a minor curiosity, but he’s part of a veritable chorus of deranged mouthpieces. It is as if Friedman and fellow choristers have been scripted into some 1970s situation drama where all the NPCs filling out the cast and guest slots inexplicably love and are in awe of the lead obnoxioso. No one ever reacts realistically to the bizarre opinions and poses on display, I guess because that’s entertainment?!?

Timothy Snyder, Yale historian, famous for writing a book where he blamed Stalin for Hitler murdering 1.2 million Soviet soldiers held as POWs by the Germans is another such person. Anne Applebaum of the New Yorker, married to a war mongering Polish foreign minister is still another. Kara Kallas, the EU foreign secretary and an Estonian, expressed surprise at the suggestion that Russia be credited with the defeat of Nazi Germany in WWII. Senator Lyndsey Graham, cringeworthy in his bloodthirsty joy at the prospect of fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian, may be the epitome of the art form.

Mostly the “rules-based order” supplies a more soothing rhetoric of supposed principles to explain away how the NATO “defensive alliance” ended up on Russia’s doorstep, nuclear weapons in tow. But, just beneath the smooth exterior presentation is a determination to see Russia fail as a state, as if that would work out well, complimenting the Russophobia of Crystia Freedland, Victoria Nuland or Blaise Metreweli (“C”).

I really do not fathom the process that puts these people unopposed and in charge of the discourse on foreign affairs.

Am I the only one worried of Sanae Takaichi’s premiership and the negative effects her tough-on-China policy may have on Japan?

There’s so much activity in all the realms that no one can apprehend or comprehend it outside of the omniscient, and none of us belong to that club, although maybe there’s one or two here and there, and I’m too dense to recognize it.
Confusión and conflicts, ignorance and stupidity, jealousy, conceit and pride are a as accelerating.
On the other hand, it’s the autumn harvest full moon and cause for celebration.
Cheers brothers and sisters wherever you reside, whatever your age or weight or the color of your skin! To the health and happiness of all.
