    Throw a dart at a world map
    and see what you hit
    rape and murder
    like the boys sang
    it’s just a shot away
    (although the rape and murder line was sung in a Detroit studio by gospel singers who had no idea what they’d gotten themselves into. There’s some kind of message there.)
    Never mind.

    The US is averaging one mass shooting per week (so far).

    Meanwhile, Spain is melting.

    The very rich continue to get richer.

    Children as young as ten years old are working at McDonalds, in at least three states, some not even paid.

    The Lake Isle of Innisfree
    By William Butler Yeats

    “Innisfree”

    I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
    And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
    Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,
    And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

    And I will have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
    Dropping on the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
    There midnight’s all a-glimmer, and noon’s a purple glow,
    And evening’s full of the linnet’s wings.

    I will arise and go now, for always night and day
    I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
    While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,
    I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

    This haunting song popped up in my conscious today, unbidden … though apparently bidden, nonetheless …

    I learned of this William B. Yates poem circuitously—being a female, and a big Judy Collins fan, over five decades ago. I thought she sang it beautifully (on her 1971 Living album); though realistically, I would be terrified and crushed—living a life with no humans to share life with.

    very good to see you posting, mago. would like to note more, regarding it (e.g Merry Clayton), but no time to do it thoughtfully—with the care it deserves, sigh.

    gotta run …

    oops (my last, in moderation comment), then again I’m not a CODER, never wanted to be, it’s not in my nature …nor in billions of other human being’s natures. Have to say I do like the result but it was totally unplanned, I can’t take the super ego credit for it ….

    gotta run …

    So that’s all it’s worth?
    Nobody gives a shit or a flying f**k?
    Speaks volumes.
    No one’s listening.
