Granted, it’s Politico, but at the least it’s a trial balloon:
Obama is considering detailing his health-care demands in a major speech as soon as next week, when Congress returns from the August recess. And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.

Catastrophe for Dems if there is a universal mandate and no PO.
Since when is being in the minority considered catastrophic by the Vichy Democrats? From where I sit, it looks like Harry Reid can’t wait to be minority leader again. Of course with the self-imposed current supermajority requirements in the Senate, he’s got the next best thing: Superminority Leader.

Pretty much anyone who knew the first thing about the history of the Democratic Party, or took even a moment to investigate their finances. It’s been more than obvious for some decades that the formerly left-wing (or at least progressive) Democratic Party has become a right-wing party totally devoted to and virtually owned by corporate interests. Anyone who’s surprised at what they’ve been doing simply has been deluding themselves, and is living in a fantasy world, I think they call it “Camelot.”
